SPGW SEAL Hydraulic Seal
SPGW seals are an essential component in hydraulic systems, and their role is to prevent the escape of hydraulic fluid from the system while also keeping contaminants out.
SPGW seals consist of a metal washer, an elastomeric seal ring, and a backup ring. The metal washer is typically made of high-strength carbon steel or stainless steel, and it serves as a support for the elastomeric seal ring.
The elastomeric seal ring is made of materials such as nitrile rubber, Viton, or polyurethane, and it provides the primary sealing function. When the hydraulic fluid exerts pressure against the seal ring, it deforms and creates a tight seal against the seal surface.
The backup ring works in conjunction with the elastomeric ring to provide enhanced sealing performance. It serves to prevent extrusion of the elastomeric material, which can occur when pressure becomes too high or when there is excessive movement in the system.
In addition to their sealing function, SPGW seals also offer excellent resistance to wear, low friction coefficients, and high-temperature resistance, making them an ideal choice for use in hydraulic systems where reliability and durability are critical.
SPGW seals play an essential role in hydraulic systems by providing a reliable and durable sealing solution that prevents fluid leaks and keeps contaminants out of the system. Their design and materials offer excellent performance characteristics, ensuring optimal operation and longevity of hydraulic systems.
